• Mark: I added a patch from gitlab to a package; I heard that gitlab changed all the hashes
  • Massimiliano: wasn't aware of gitlab but github
  • For github at least, you can add some content to the URL to specify how to generate the patch
    • See #29239 (PR in spack) on updating several packages to use this
  • Maybe something similar exists for gitlab
• Mark: when trying to use a variant like cflags, if you have >1 flags like spack spec cflags="-g -O2" zlib spack will complain
  • spack spec zlib cflags'"-g -O2"' is a temporary workaround
  • Or spack spec "zlib cflags='-g -O2'"
  • Massimiliano: will look into this
• Dom Heinzeller: need to be able to create a build cache for all packages in an env
  • See: https://github.com/spack/spack/issues/35602
  • Desire: if you create a buildcache for several packages, keep going if one fails
