• Getting unusual package PRs merged. Most package PRs go pretty smoothly. But ones with unusual features seem to get stuck in never-never land. See:

• Status of Merge for Spack Environments???

• Dan: where does the .spack/cray/compilers.yaml come from?

  • The file is bad: it contains duplicates
  • The user is deleting the .spack folder each time
  • Spack auto generates this if it isn't present
    • E.g. in .spack/cray/ or in .spack/

• Patrick: Chris Green mentioned adding a set of packages all with the same options

  • Not just sharing options, but also functionality
  • Why not add this to build_systems
  • There's a discussion in the Slack channel (packages channel)

• Mike: workrave package (7753) PR updates: ready for review

• Mike: mpi4py with external openmpi working

  • Didn't run with Spack built openmpi (srun failed, also when slurm scheduler variant was selected)
  • In general perhaps it's good to use the MPI built on the system for HPC
