- Anything folks want to bring up
Discussion Topics:
- PR to use ccache is in the works: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/3761/files
- This caches compilations of a package, and is anticipated to be useful when many instances of a single package are built with different variants
Core PRs merged since 4/20:
- Multi-valued variants: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/2386
- e.g. helps adding shared vs. static to cmake builds
- Elizabeth: standardize this across all packages and then you can globally set link-type=shared or link-type=static and have that build everything shared/static
- Elizabeth: release vs. debug should be handled in the same way
- Ben: If hdf5 is built in debug then it builds a debug-specific library. How to handle this?
- Christoph: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/issues/4083#issuecomment-298690923 Mark's list of global variants, shared/static, debug/release etc
- Skip tests for fetch tools that are not installed: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/4059
- Fix bugs where under certain circumstances system paths could be added to PATH: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/3910
- Register external packages in the DB: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/1167
- Improved Python support at: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/3367
- Fixed bugs related to finding python libs/binary for external python
- Added explicit support for WAF build system: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/3975
Recent Issues Raised and PRs in development:
- Getting unique identifier for installed package: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/issues/4080
- Lots of conversation on FASTMath package PR: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/4120
- Seems like it and xsdk package would benefit from bundle package functionality in development at https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/3133
