  1. Spack news:
  • Variants and optional dependencies are almost done.
  • YAML configuration files are almost done.
  • Once this is done profiles will be possible, and I can make compiler flags less tedious.
  1. Contributions
  • Cyrus Harrison (LLNL) contributed uncrustify and cppcheck packages.
  • spack diy command merged into develop.
  • XL support from Francois Bissey merged into develop.
  1. General questions and discussion
  • Mike Collette:
    • need ability not just to set compiler flags, but to add compiler flags.

    • need a way to encode what the thread flags are for particular compilers

      • need a way to enforce consistency (don't link intel +threads with gcc +threads)
      • common compiler variant names?
    • conflict error message doesn't tell you which package has the problematic constraint.
