PRs merged:
-
spack install --overwrite
can reinstall a package in place (including when it has dependents): https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/5384 - Only use XCode clang wrappers for packages that set use_xcode=True: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/6077
- You can call
spack blame
on Spack packages and spack core files now: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/5793 -
spack -d install...
used to generate a log of all compiler wrapper invocations, which is now restored: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/5837
New Issues of note:
- Packages depending on bzip/tar can run into errors when decompressing resources/source-code
- Christoph: some packages only make static libs but you want shared libs. It would be good to add an option to generate them
- https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/6092
- Ben: how do you know that all the symbols are built properly?
- Ben: how well does this generalize? e.g. if a package has 5 static libs. Also doesn't apply to Windows
- Christoph: had a pull request for ccache: https://github.com/LLNL/spack/pull/3761
- could use a test (?)
- had a merge conflict (now resolved)
