Process

Proposal review

All communications regarding proposal review are conducted in private using the @gsoc-mentors team discussion (in private mode).

For the detailed process see GSoC Proposal Review.

The process results in a ranked list of candidates and their proposals together with one primary mentor and at least one secondary mentor. Based on this list, the org admins request slot numbers from Google.

Based on the available slot numbers, the highest ranked proposals are accepted for GSoC.

Students will only be informed by Google at the official date if they have been accepted; neither mentors nor org admins may tell students if they have or have not been successful.

Onboarding

Details about mentor responsibilities and helpful resources are provided for mentors on the Contributor and Mentor Onboarding Guide page.
