Product Owner and Service Managers (Formerly Project Managers and Other Pals,PMOP)

POSM is the managing body of the Oregon Digital 2 project, and is made up of Oregon Digital Product Owners, Project Managers, Service Managers and developer representatives. This group is responsible for ensuring that critical business decisions are made in a timely and proactive way.

Project Decisions to Date

• November 2, 2018: Go out for RFP for bulk round-tripping of data in Hyrax (after Board gave informal okay to move forward)
• November 2, 2018: Support the Valkyrization of Hyrax by contributing to community code sprints
• November 9, 2018: Use JP2s for image serving, over pyramidal TIFFs; use RAIS over another IIIF server; use Amazon S3 over EFF or EBS storage for serving images; pre-generate thumbnail images over generating them dynamically
• December 21, 2018: Use AWS S3-IA (Intermittent Access) for original file storage and content storage/image serving
• January 7, 2019: Process developed and approved for project funding requests
• March 18, 2019: Purchase ordig.it domain for efficient internal services support
• September 6, 2019: Return to on-prem approach for storage (rescind 12/21/18 decision)
