The COMMITTERS guide contains useful information about the release schedule.

Discussions about the release planning in relation to the Quarkus Platform are taking place here: https://groups.google.com/g/quarkus-platform-coordination.

Everything that needs to be in a release needs to be merged until the day before the release date.

.0 releases are made in two phases:

  • The Core release is released first. It contains all the artifacts from the Core repository. Extension maintainers usually depend on this release.
  • The Quarkus Platform is released one week after so that Platform members have the time to contribute updates to the Platform. The Platform release is what is consumed by end users (via io.quarkus.platform:quarkus-bom) and we announce the new Quarkus release only then.

  • Full Platform release (and official announcement) on May 29th

  • Core CR1 on Tuesday April 16th
  • Core Final on Tuesday April 23th
  • Full Platform release (and official announcement) on Tuesday April 30th

    • Exceptionally 2 weeks after Core Final so that Platform members and the overall ecosystem has a bit more time to release versions targeting 3.0.0.Final
