Eclipse Theia Twitter Strategy

Vincent Fugnitto edited this page Jul 1, 2021 · 1 revision

The Theia twitter handle "theia-ide" is supposed to promote the projects and news around it. As the handle is representing a project and several people (the project leads and Brian King representing the Eclipse Foundation) have access, we define things to be tweeted and the rules around this in the following.

General rules

The Code of conduct applies to all tweets: https://github.com/eclipse-theia/theia/blob/master/CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md Further, all tweets need to follow the goal to promote the project and the direct ecosystem around it. "Off topic" tweets require review by at least two parties from different organizations.

Release announcement (no review)

Every release shall be anounced in a tweet such as:

Eclipse Theia release 1.xx is now available! {A sentence about a noteworthy feature}. See the full change log here: https://github.com/eclipse-theia/theia/blob/master/CHANGELOG.md #ECDTools #eclipsetheia

Feature announcement (no review)

Noteworthy ticket should be tagged with "noteworthy". Corresponding PRs shall be tagged by the reviewer like "@brianking: Twitter". When they are merged, they shall be tweeted like this:

Eclipse Theia now supports XYZ! See the PR: . This will be part of the 1.xx release! #ECDTools #eclipsetheia

Event announcements (no review)

Talks or events that are directly related to Eclipse Theia shall be tweeted. The announcement can be done two times, i.e. announce once and remind a few days before the event.

EclipseCon (no review)

News about EclipseCon can continuously tweeted (~ 1 per month), but they need to have an Eclipse Theia context

Talk recordings and articles (no review)

Available recordings of talks and articles that are directly related to Eclipse Theia shall be tweeted.

News related to Theia or anything else (review)

All other topics should be apporved by at least two comitters before they are tweeted. If a general scheme can be derived, it can be generally approved by the project leads and added to this list.
