YAML Community

The active YAML community has historically been small but it is growing. If you work on a YAML related project we'd love to hear from you. Likewise if you are a YAML user and have questions.

In August 2021 we started hosting a Matrix homeserver for YAML community chat. The general chat room is https://matrix.to/#/#chat:yaml.io. Start there and we'll guide you to a more appropriate room if needed.

If you are a YAML framework developer, you might want to start out in https://matrix.to/#/#dev:yaml.io.

YAML also has IRC channels #yaml and #yaml-dev on the https://libera.chat IRC network. Although we expect most conversation to happen in Matrix, we will continue to keep the IRC channels open. At some point we may support a Matrix to IRC bridge.

YAML was originally developed on a mailing list but that is really only used for a few major announcements these days. See https://sourceforge.net/p/yaml/mailman/yaml-core/ if you are interested in the history.
