I understand this PR might be unwanted and surely unexpected, but I needed this for my own work and I find it useful to at least provide a PR so that the code might be used by those needing the same functionality.
Basically, it allows
<caption>to be added to tables in the following way:It’s fully backward compatible and the caption would be recognized if it only goes as the first line in the table and starts with a hash symbol.
