Every now and then, the python docs push will fail because the base branch (pytorchbot/base) is too old and accumulates commits that might cause the cla check to fail. Pushing to the base branch will prevent it from being old.
The site branch cannot be used because the following push to site will cause the pr to be closed, preventing us from getting the cla check the next day, which is what happened to pytorch/pytorch.github.io#1157 when I was trying to figure this out.
