2021 CDC Project Submission Template

Welcome to the datathon/hackathon portion of the Carolina Data Challenge!

This repository will serve as a starting platform for your team's project. You can create your own repository using this as a template. Click here or the "Use this Template" button in the top right corner to generate a repository using this one as a template.

Folders in this template.

The default repository directory is as follows:

/datasets

This is where you can find more information on your datasets. You may put your datasets in this folder but please keep in mind git/Github's file size limitations. Links to this year's datasets are as follows:

Healthcare

Finance

Social Science

Media

To qualify for a prize, you must use one of our supplied datasets, but you may source any outside data to supplement your analysis. Additionally, to qualify for a track you must use at least one dataset from that specific track.

More info on the datasets can be found here.

/project

This is where you can put/write code/files for your applications. You may use whatever programming language you want or use whichever statistical tools you need. Just remember that all work must be original to this hackathon.

More resources on projects here.

/submission

You can see more info on what you need to submit here. In summary, both your repository and a 5 minute video must be submitted to our Devpost for judging. In addition, you must specify which track you want to submit to.

More details and instructions on submissions here.

If you have any questions during the, either technical or logistical, be sure to reach out to a mentor and/or a director for assistance!
