Bridging

Bridging is a necessary step to mint your art on Basilisk. Having Kusama in your wallet does not mean you can start right away. You need to bridge your Kusama into the Basilisk chain. You can do so using XCM — Kusama's cross-messaging protocol. The three most used options are:

KodaDot's Teleport Bridge

In this step, you will just move your Kusama to the Basilisk chain (your Kusama will be on your BSX address).

Step 1: Open KodaDot's Teleport Bridge

Go to KodaDot's top right corner, click on the circle, and select Teleport Bridge.

Step 2: Teleport your funds

Choose correctly where you want to teleport your funds. Let's say you want them to move From Kusama → To Basilisk. Select how much KSM you wish to bridge.

Step 3: Bridging

Click on Send and confirm your transaction. It also works backward if you want to return your funds to Kusama.

Congratulations, you successfully bridged your funds!

Basilisk app

Step 1: Connect your wallet to Basilisk app

Open the Basilisk app: https://app.basilisk.cloud/ and in the top right corner, click on Connect

Step 2: Select Cross-chain

Step 3: Bridging

Fill out all the details and confirm your transaction:

  • Source chain: from which you want to move funds
  • Destination chain: to which you want to move them
  • Transfer asset: how much do you want to move
  • To address: it will automatically fill in your address, but if you want to send bridged fund to someone else, here you can add their address
  • Transfer: confirm your transaction

Congratulations, you successfully bridged your funds!

Karura

Using Karura is very similar to the previous two options. We strongly encourage you to use those options before you try https://apps.karura.network/.
