This is the code for a tutorial on how to set up authentication (verifying who you are) and authorization (what you are permitted to do) using Ruby 2.7, Rails 6.0.3 and two popular Ruby gems: Devise and cancancan.

- Clone repo:
git clone git@github.com:jameshibbard/authentication-with-devise-and-cancancan.git - Change into directory:
cd authentication-with-devise-and-cancancan - Install gems:
bundle install - Install JavaScript packages:
yarn install - Create database:
rake db:create - Create tables:
rake db:migrate - Seed database:
rake db:seed - Start the server:
rails s - Visit http://localhost:3000/ and log in with any of the users defined in the seeds file.
