Module additions

This update contains four new modules, which are interconnected:

  • Webform encrypt 7.x-1.3

  • Encrypt 7.x-2.3

  • Key 7.x-3.4

  • Real_aes 7.x-2.1.

These modules have been included in the platform to improve the security and confidentiality of data stored for GovCMS as the platform is now accredited to OFFICIAL: Sensitive. The Webform encrypt module allows fields and other components in the Webform module to be encrypted. When a user submits the completed web form, the encrypted value for that component is saved rather than the value entered by the user. Encryption is provided by the Encrypt module.

The Key and Real_aes modules are required to enable the Webform encrypt module.

What support will be provided for the GovCMS D7 distribution after the update?

The GovCMS D7 distribution will continue to be supported after this update. Updates to address critical security updates will be scheduled as required.

What should my organisation do now?

PaaS customers should review the detailed information about this update. More information is available at https://github.com/govCMS/govCMS/releases/tag/7.x-3.13. You may need to apply updates.

SaaS customers don't need to perform any actions as part of the deployment but DO need to check their sites after the deployment to ensure there aren't any issues.

All Drupal 7 customers should plan now to transition your website to Drupal 8 or 9.
