Description

This PR marks the feature freeze phase for the v14.0.0 release.

The current :edge image will be tested and if no bugs get reported, v14.0.0 will be released. During this testing period, only PRs that do not change functionality will be merged.

If you want to support us, give the latest :edge image a try and report any issues you encounter back to this PR.

Documentation updates may be merged. Feature freeze is in place until 5 Jun 2024.

Last blockers for this release:

When these are merged, and no new serious bugs are reported, we will begin with a feature freeze of seven days.

I am not sure what this Fail2Ban PR is about, but if it is not going to be a breaking change, and is going to take sometime, I think it is fine to schedule it for 14.1.0. Or 14.0.1 if it is a hot fix for the 14 version.

The F2B PR is a change that @casperklein proposed, which is about updating Fail2Ban.

You're right, though, this can go into v14.1.0 without harm. I will rebase this PR later today, and convert it from draft to a proper PR again.

@casperklein do you have an ETA for the Fail2Ban update PR? I would consider this PR as a blocker for v14 too, unless it is too far into the future.

I am on vacation right now and can't provide a PR. You wrote in the other thread, that you are going to provide one? Edit: you updated your comment. I was confused, because I got the original response by mail.

For me, it's not a blocker for v14. Just because the new version fixes some issue with postfix log parsing, I thought it would be a good idea to have it in the major update. We can postpone the f2b update to 14.1.0 👍
