Update delivered on behalf of Andy G.

RH engineers assessing Docker client code and registry code.

Concerns about contention on the sources files during parallel builds.

Proposal expected soon.

Not blocked or stalled on anything from us.

Multiarch

Ultimate goal for new Manifest format is to be totally generic and for multi arch manifests to be implemented in terms thereof. Stephen to take over generic content manifest PR (#66)

Solomon concerned about label creep. Suggestions around standard set of labels (a la ATOM/RSS) with freeform labels allowed with a prefix, and possibly being promoted to 'official' ones and have namespace removed. Solomon also suggested embedding proposed manifest within old manifest then deprecate old Current manifest treated as a tag which references images. New clients de-reference to get new version.

UX proposal for fat manifest building needed - Herschel [sp?] to provide.

Notary will need to be happy with the registry rewriting content as in 1.9 registry will not necessarily be a trusted entity.

Total break of Manifest backward compatibility in Docker 2.0 would solve a lot of problems. Hyrbid formats come with a log of baggage, history and cruft.
