Java Headers

This plugin implemenents 'API inversion'

The API consumer defines the required API using classes and interfaces with the @JavaHeader annotation.

The API publisher implements the API provided by the consumer

Why would I ever use this?

The use-case of this is where a project has a dependency which it does not control, and which it wants to support multiple versions of.

For example the CubicChunks2 project depends on Minecraft, and wants to support as many versions as possible.

It has a CubicChunksCore (Core) subproject which is entirely separated from Minecraft. Core defines an API it expects to work, which CubicChunks2 implements for each Minecraft version it supports.

Example case: project A depends on project B

B defines the API it requires using the io.github.opencubicchunks.javaheaders.api.Header annotation (from javaheaders-api) like so: (B may define as many such classes or interfaces as it likes)

Within its build.gradle A then applies the javaHeaders plugin, and defines its parameters.

Finally A defines a config file that maps each class of the implementation to the respective headers it implements
