Telegram Stories were made available on July 2023.
Version 1 of the Telethon library does not have first-class support for stories (with no plans to either), but as usual, the raw API can be used to interact with stories.
The stories GitHub gist shows how you could extend the TelegramClient to include new methods for stories.
Alternatively, a fork may be used in the meantime if you prefer to avoid using raw API yourself.
Note that stories have certain restrictions on which file formats are supported.
