The SmartWallet doesn't have much support for interacting with invitations. For the moment the supported approach is called "Continuing Invitations". There's an issue requesting documentation, and a writeup of a scenario making use of Continuing Invitations with some prose and sample code.
More documentation would be very helpful to dApp developers.
