This issue has originally been reported by @buttflattery at yiisoft/yii2#16675.
Moved here by @samdark.

By default Yii2's Gii module generates the SearchModel with the statement

use Yii;

on top whereas there isnt any code that calls Yii is that required anyway, as i dont see any difference if i remove it.
