Build in dev mode without dev server (already existing backend server)

Hi,

My vite-built react app is a "frontend" package in a monorepo and works with a "backend" nodejs server that 1. exposes a REST API and 2. serves the static files.

I would like to have a dev xp for the "frontent" project similar to the one with vite dev but with my "backend" server instead of the dev server, because my "backend"'s REST API is a requirement for the "frontend" and ideally I wouldn't want to configure different API base urls for development/production.

For now I'm using vite build --mode development but the xp is not ideal as build time remains ~10s on an M1 Pro mac.

How can I get ⚡ vite builds with my own "backend" server?
