What this PR does / why we need it:

This PR bumps the matrix of supported Go versions to test on the latest release (^1.18) and drop testing/supporting ^1.15. This is needed so that the project is confirmed to work with the latest Go release and further provides everyone who uses this library with more confidence 🀞🏼
