Problem
Frequently, we need to re-run completed batches. Deleting batches or groups of items on ERA is currently unavailable to admin users. We need an easier way to delete/undo a completed batch to run it again. This is needed for various reasons, ranging from:

  • Avoiding leftover items on ERA that are added as tests
  • Internal or external stakeholders requests
  • Metadata model adjustments
  • Metadata changes needed due to an uncaught inaccuracy or error
  • Pilot samples created for possible new collections

Solution
I'd like to be able to be able to undo a completed batch, then edit metadata/files, re-add metadata/files, and run it again. See screenshot in "Additional context" section below for an example from Aviary.

Alternatives
If undoing a completed batch is not possible, we need a way to delete groups of items on ERA (batch delete).

Additional context

  • This is a feature request to capture platform-agnostic needs. To be considered for current ERA (jupiter) or future platforms (e.g. DSpace).
