It looks like Raleway has cyrillic symbols in it's character list, but it's not described correctly in font's metadata, so my front-end developer has problems that it is being replaced by Arial in browser, but I can normally type cyrillic letters with it in my mockups. For example copypaste "Русский текст на Raleway" in font preview text field and you'll see it handles it, but if you search Google Fonts for Raleway with "Cyrillic" filter turned on, you'll see it isn't displayed.

Somewhat unfortunately the work on this font that led to its inclusion in Google Fonts was never contributed back to this repository (even though this was the original project repository). In fact that work in this project (which is currently the upstream source for Google Fonts) was itself forked from impallari's fork—which should have been an actual fork but instead was started as a blank repository with some edited source files posted from scratch.

I've since worked though both those projects and integrated all the source changes, which brings the releases here up to date. I just poked around and typeset some Russian documents using the 4.100 release, and it looks fine in our build.

I don't know how Google Fonts is generating their own internal meta data but the font seems fine. I'd be happy to make any adjustments that are needed if anybody points them out and I would love it if Google updated their meta data to point at this repository as canonical again, but that's somewhat out of scope for this project itself.
