[V2, Safari] Audio player doesn't work

I'm using macOS 14.4.1, so Tauri uses the Safari engine.
On my page I'm using <audio><source src="..."></audio> element tag>, but the player doesn't play anything, nor does it display audio duration:

I don't see any relevant errors in webview or Rust consoles.
I tried both embedded base64 data URI (i.e. data:audio/mpeg;base64,...) and an asset:// URI. Both approaches work for <img> but not for <audio>.

What made me think this is a Tauri specific issue is that when I open my frontend dev url in a real Safari browser, it does play audio with embedded base64 just fine, it's just Tauri window that behaves differently.
Maybe there's some security/capability I need to tweak to make it work? Thanks.

Update: found out the cause. Turns out, Safari doesn't support neither OGG nor OPUS audio files (it's year 2024, in case anyone forgot).
As for base64 part working locally, it's on me, turns out I have accidentally used OGG for Tauri and MP3 for Safari.
Well, that's a huge bummer.
