Unable to run V2.0.0-beta.1 on Mac M1 Pro

I've followed the https://beta.tauri.app guide on starting a project but I'm consistently facing the same error regardless of the JS package manager I pick(bun/pnpm/npm/yarn). Here's the error I get

My understanding is tauri-apps+cli-darwin-x64 requires x86_64 architecture and openssl to be present at /usr/local/opt/... path, however, I'm using an M1 and it's present at /opt/homebrew/bin/.... I can also confirm I've got OpenSSL 3.2.1 installed.

I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Hmm, i think that should mean that you have a x86 nodejs installation instead of an arm one. You can check via node -p "process.arch"

I'm getting a x64.
Edit: Was using asdf for node versions and it was falling back to x86, now back on track. Thanks @FabianLars

Yeah, then i'd recommend to re-install nodejs to get the arm version. I doubt tauri will be the last dependency that will trip up over that (though ideally we could make it more robust...)

Thank you, a bit unrelated curious if there are more resources on implementing custom windows with Tauri, something like this

This requires to disable "decorations" and style the window completely with css. The problem is that the window will keep being rectangular, so those edges won't be click-through.

I think the only resource we have is this guide https://tauri.app/v1/guides/features/window-customization which is admittedly in a horrible state right now.

I also have this problem that has not been solved. My computer is M1 pro chip, and I installed node with arm64
