The autogenerated citation button has two states: Yes and No. The default state should be Yes and it should persist as Yes, unless the user changes it to No.

Here's what I'm seeing:

  • When opening a new item, the default citation is set to Yes. This is correct.
  • If I save this item as a draft or deposit this item and then go back into the form, the citation option is always set to No. It should be Yes, since I have not changed it.

Steps to reproduce on an existing item, https://sdr.stanford.edu/works/7687:

  • Click the pencil icon to open the form.
  • Note that the auto-generated citation option is set to no (even though I left it on Yes)

  • Change the slider to Yes

  • Save as draft or deposit
  • Once it's done depositing, click the pencil icon again to edit the item.
  • Notice that the auto-generated citation option is set back to No.
