Ruby Central exists to make sure RubyGems.org, Bundler, and other Ruby open source infrastructure stays maintained.
Since 2015, we have delivered:
- 99.9% uptime for RubyGems.org with ZERO major outages
- Bundler shipping inside Ruby itself via collaboration with ruby-core
- 2 major versions, 24 minor versions, and 167 bugfix releases of RubyGems and Bundler
- Bundler and RubyGems merged into a single repository and GitHub organization
- stats.rubygems.org to show the community who is using RubyGems
We have also funded development work on other Ruby open source projects:
Finally, we have created a program to pay experienced developers and developers who are just getting started to practice pairing and open source development: Ruby Me.
More funding means we will pay more open source developers, fund more open source Ruby projects, and run more rounds of Ruby Me, with more participants.
