readme: remove ToC, since it's now shown by GitHub #1429

GitHub shows a ToC for any markdown document (not only the README). Therefore, it's not worth the maintainance burden of keeping the ToC in the README up to date manually. This PR removes it.

I should have checked this sooner, but I don't see any ToC on the main page. Maybe it is a setting of mine?
@umarcor can you let me know where this ToC automatically shown by GitHub can be seen?

@marckhouzam it's at the top, right next to the filename:

It's available for all markdown sources, not only the README. For instance:
