Window title bar does not respond to taps with Surface Pen on Surface device #4318

Hi,

I use the signal app as it feels a lot more convenient than using my phone (when I am near my computer).

The title bar (including the buttons to minimise, maximise, close or to drag around the screen ) does not respond at all to my Surface Pen on my Surface Pro 7.

While this is not an absolute war winner, it would be nice to interact completely with my surface pen.

Thanks

Pete

Hi, @PHannan80. A few questions:

  1. Does the title bar respond to your mouse?
  2. Are you able to interact with the title bar using the surface pen on other Electron apps (.e.g, Atom)?

Hi Kenpowers,

  1. In Signal, the title bar responds to mouse and touch (finger) on my Surface Pro 7
  2. I installed Atom (using Chocolatey). Like Signal, the functions within the app work fine with my Surface Pen however, the title does not respond to pen touch either. Hovering over the close, minimise and maximise buttons register that the pen is there (highlights) but does not respond to pen taps.

Looks like this bug has already been reported to the Electron maintainers: electron/electron#21440

Thanks for getting back to me.
Hopefully it will be resolved sometime soon.

It looks like electron/electron#21440 was fixed via electron/electron#24042, so this issue should be fixed in the course of time once we upgrade Electron to whatever release contains those changes.
