OAuth2 authentication against gem server.

We want to host a private gemserver, and would like to have it behind JWT authentication, but bundler does not seem to support this (even though it seems to support basic auth https://bundler.io/v1.12/man/bundle-config.1.html#CREDENTIALS-FOR-GEM-SOURCES).

Has there been any discusion about this topic already? I haven't been able to find it.

Would there be any interest in merging something related to this issue? I understand that this might require starting an RFC discussion first, but maybe my approach is completely wrong.
