Resynchronizing the zonefile is a BIND-specific operation, so you are doing the right thing by calling
rdnc sync
. While you can remove the journal file with the-clean
argument to rndc, in general you should NOT do this. The journal allows BIND to do incremental zone transfers (IXFR) to update secondary servers, and if you remove it, BIND will only be able to do the more expensive AXFR zone transfer.
