👋 I try to add reviewdog to pipeline in gitlabci but I have this error.

//.reviewdog.yaml
runner:
  phpstan:
    format: phpstan
    cmd: php vendor/phpstan/phpstan/bin/phpstan analyse ./src --level 2

and I use this command to run reviewdog -reporter=gitlab-mr-discussion
and I have no idea why I have this error reviewdog: failed to get merge-base commit: exit status 128

@zawiszaty is your source branch actual? Did you rebase it onto the target branch?

I had the same issue and fixed by turning off git shallow copy

This worked, curious to know why is this needed? Not ideal.

In a MR contect, likely to find out the common ancestor of the branch and the target branch and then match the changes with the diff.
