Results not displayed if search closed/re-opened

If the search screen is closed (by clicking "X", hitting escape, etc.) and then re-opened by clicking in the search input or pressing "/", the search term remains in the input field but no results are displayed unless it is edited. It seems that the search function should be triggered if the screen opens with a search term already defined.
