Hey @jGaboardi, we should do the release today or tomorrow with those patches we have merged recently so we get a clean runtime during the SDSS workshop on Friday.

We have two options:

  • cut the release from the current main and call it 0.6.0
  • cherrypick those warning-related changes on top of 0.5.3 and to the patch release 0.5.4

There's nothing stopping us from doing 0.6.0 but I'd like to have GSoC released together when we have all in.

Thoughts?

cherrypick those warning-related changes on top of 0.5.3 and to the patch release 0.5.4

This is what we probably should do even though it's a bit more troublesome. Introducing the GSoC-related functionality spread across 2 releases would muss things up.

Unless there is any chance of #377 and #396 being ready for merge in the next couple days?

Wouldn't bet on that.

So then a v0.5.4 release it is!
