Given the contents of https://github.com/pypa/twine/tree/main/changelog, I think this is the appropriate version.

I'm aiming for early next week; IIRC we're avoiding weekends to avoid breaking CI/CD pipelines while folks aren't working.

Given the contents of https://github.com/pypa/twine/tree/main/changelog, I think this is the appropriate version.

I don't understand. I see only bug fixes. I understand our versioning scheme as

  • 3.x -> 4.0 - If we need to break something in a backwards incompatible way
  • 3.x.y -> 3.x+1.0 if we are adding a feature
  • 3.x.y -> 3.x.y+1 if we are only fixing bugs

This is important more because it communicates more to the user than anything how "safe" it is to upgrade twine and what they should expect might have changed.

Ah, good point. I should have taken a closer look. I was thinking that #770 was larger, but from user's perspective, it's just the error message.
