lazy symbol binding failed: Symbol not found: _rb_vm_make_env_object #5

I added

gem 'pry-stack_explorer'

to my Rails project's Gemfile, and now when doing rails console, I get the following:

macbuech:tttt josh$ rails c

Happening to me too. I'm using Ruby 1.9.3p125

i had this issue using ruby 1.9.3-p125. changing my ruby version to 1.9.3-p194 fixed it for me.

Can either of you try going back up to p125 and then re-doing the gem install binding_of_caller ?

@rking I tried that before and it did not work for me. i was doing a rake db:migrate when it wasnt working for me

@rking I'm using rbenv and ruby 1.9.-p125. This gem was recently added to our rails project (within the last week) and this issue still exists.

@amk-boCO does it happen when you upgrade to the latest ruby patchlevel? p125 is very old by now

via this thread @mperham sez: Try gem install eventmachine again.
