@Eugentis this issue has been fixed by the pull request #9727 That fix is included in the 3.20.1RC1 version that has already been published on the pecl repository (see https://github.com/protocolbuffers/protobuf/releases/tag/v3.20.1-rc1 and https://pecl.php.net/package-changelog.php?package=protobuf). Since that version is marked as beta, pecl won't use it by default.
