As shown in the image below, the RAM usage keep rising and rising and after almost a month it hits the cap. The cap looks to be 95% of available RAM and is hovering around number.
Some info:
I run Prometheus in a container, that is limited to 2GB of RAM.
My retention time is set to 90 days.
I collect metrics from 15 targets.
With a scrape interval of 10 seconds.
Everything works just fine, but my question is if its expected behaviour or is the RAM for the container to little?
If it is expected, then I guess I'll increase the alert level from 90% to 96% because at the moment my alert is firing for high RAM usage in container, or exclude it.
If the RAM is to little for my configuration, how can I calculate what would work better?
