Hello!
In Observability at Canva, we're undertaking work to align the names of our labels/tags across our telemetry types, however we've run into the issue of Observability platforms offering different support for special characters. We've decided to use the Otel spec to name our telemetry which uses dot notation which I understand Prometheus doesn't support.
However I recently found this comment which indicated that this stance might be changing: open-telemetry/opentelemetry-specification#3325 (comment)

Could we get a bit more clarity on this?
