Prettier is formatting the entire directory even when a valid file path is given

According to the CLI docs, this should be perfectly valid:

yarn prettier --write app/components/drawer/drawer.tsx

The file path exists, and is valid from the directory I run this command from. Yet when I execute this, prettier formats every file in my project except for those listen in .prettierignore

I was trying to use this with lint-staged but it's taking forever because it ends up writing the entire project so I'm debugging the cli.

Using prettier 2.8.4 on Node 18

Turned out to be because we had a prettier script in package.json that was set to prettier --write . so yarn was executing that, ignore the file arguments.
