Sorry, I must correct myself The tutorial seems to be correct and up to date about the recent api calling conventions and names, just checked the mentioned examples (PouchDB and on('change') handler). But the todo project that one might use for playing with the tutorial is not synced with it. So if the project is not fixed then the disclaimer in the tutorial could mention that the downloaded version might not correspond fully to the text. Thanks again |

Hi,
I hope this is the right place to post my concern, sorry if not.
As a complete newbie to PouchDB, I downloaded the todo sample from the page and saw it working in a browser. But drop-in replacing the db dependency pouchdb-nightly.js to pouchdb-7.3.0.js just didn't work right out of the box. I had to make several changes in order for the example to work. Some of them are critical (Pouch to PouchDB type for example or replacing onChange handler to on('change')... ). I am still not sure I made all of the necessary changes although the basic functionality is there.
The tutorial and demo is probably 9 years old. I doubt the author of the tutorial has the resources to make it up to date, but I suggest at least adding a little warning/diclaimer in order for new developers not to expect the latest tricks from the tutorial
Thank you,
Max
