When a release is published the README.md has to be updated to reflect every new version, and sometimes it could be forgotten, and since we already provide links to maven central to the latest version there is no need to explicitly declare the version in the README.md.
With this, the readme could be more static and still always reflect the latest version thanks to the badges.
