Support for JPA properties javax.persistence.query.timeout / javax.persistence.lock.timeout

I have now read several times on the net that PostgreSQL JDBC does not support the above JPA properties. My own tests seem to confirm this. But I haven't found any documentation source for this yet.

Is the statement true and if so: where can I find further information about this or what alternatives are there?

This is dependant on your JPA implementation, not the driver.

It, therefore, depends on the JDBC driver and the database capabilities, if the query hint has any effect.

Is this a wrong information? Hibernate definitely does support the properties. But it does not work with every db provider.

Right, so if you use Hibernate it will use the setTimeout() method on the driver.
