Recently we started getting this exception:

Thread: Tomcat JDBC Pool Cleaner

Looks like it is not really affecting application functionality but still regularly occurs in the logs of idle applications.
There is no such error in the same version of the application with daily load (prod), only for those without any activity during a couple of days (some test env)

Driver settings that were not changed for a long time:

        driverClass = "org.postgresql.Driver"

        setValidationQueryTimeout(Duration.seconds(3))
        initialSize = 8
        minSize = 8
        maxSize = 40
        checkConnectionWhileIdle = true
        evictionInterval = Duration.seconds(10)
        minIdleTime = Duration.minutes(1)

Many things were changed in the application since we did not receive that error including driver version: 42.2* -> 42.3.* so really hard to tell what's causing this

Any ideas on how to fix this except disabling validation errors?

Well without any more information it would be difficult for us to determine the cause.

Do you have access to server logs ?

Actually, that might be because of PostgresSQL DB minor version upgrade
We set logValidationErrors to fasle and it helped to resolved our concerns about errors in the logs. As I said before, other than that application works just fine so no point to investigate it farther
