If the token used to trigger the workflow calling the automerge action, will automerge bypass branch protections and merge?

If so, can you configure the workflow or action to bypass only the approval requirement, but to still wait on status checks to pass?

I think your first sentence is missing something, but from what I'm guessing, yes, automerge would bypass branch protections and merge.

This is currently not possible, but if you want to create a PR for this feature, feel free!
