Decompressing .rar archives - by adding the apt package unrar perhaps? #366

I'm not sure, but I think unraring a file using these images isn't possible with the software installed, but the apt package unrar could help accomplish this.

What do you think about adding the unrar package, or other software to decompress .rar archives?

Also a thought about this since I originally asked this question to @consideRatio for our Hub when I had trouble extracting some open glacier data.

RAR is a proprietary format for archiving/compressing files. Similar to the case of the ESRI shapefiles, it has become one of the standard formats for many file archivers (like 7-zip) due to its popularity. For the short term, I think we should add some support to the RAR files. But, in the long run, maybe it's better to initiate a movement that encourages people to stay away from RAR, just like this one for the shapefiles?
