Dependency Hierarchy:

  • oauth2client-1.3.zip (Root Library)
    • rsa-3.1.4.tar.gz (Vulnerable Library)

Found in HEAD commit: cec76f9cb1f1f247a8a869257240735ac869be70

Found in base branch: main

Vulnerability Details

Python-RSA before 4.1 ignores leading '\0' bytes during decryption of ciphertext. This could conceivably have a security-relevant impact, e.g., by helping an attacker to infer that an application uses Python-RSA, or if the length of accepted ciphertext affects application behavior (such as by causing excessive memory allocation).
